Foreign Castles are said to be 'players' from other servers, defeating them isn't hard what takes work is to shave the losses.
I'll be showing you spy reports of various FCs and also on how to attack them, however as each FC is different from another, there are some things that are common and cover the basics which I will try my best to explain them.

Things to take note of when attacking : (the most important ones)
Enemy formation set-up and total defense count
Range defense bonus, wall protection, etc
Enemy castellan
Where to use dummy waves
Your commander

Soldiers on the wall are to be tackled with ranged attackers and mantles.

Let's start with a simple one - 

Overview:

This guy has defenders in just 1 flank, and the other flanks are empty - this makes things simpler.
Dummy/Martyr wave i.e 1 soldier per avenue without tools, is applicable for all levels of FCs, dummy waves should only be put in the flank where the FC has soldiers, in our case here it is on the left flank. 

The Castellan (cast) of this FC isn't very strong, so you need not worry about it.

The total number of soldiers this castle has  is 526, with most of the soldiers on one flank.

Tools:
Ranged soldier's defense is what you need to tackle first when attacking, here it is 285%, which cannot be covered with wooden mantles, iron mantles or shield walls will do.
Second thing is the wall protection i.e 140% here, so 10 siege towers should cover it.
Dummy waves clear most of the defense bonuses in defense, so you don't need to worry about moat.

Courtyard:
The courtyard has 90 sentinels,which are melee defenders, so there is no need to put melee attackers in the attack at all as range attackers will take care of the rest.

Commander:
For this one, a 90% commander range works best. As most of the soldiers are on the flank,a flank gem would help reduce losses.

So the final formation - 

You may put range soldiers  in the blank space ( - ) if you like

Glory

Glory is related to the number of soldiers in defense and quality of the soldiers in the defender's castle (defenders give more glory than attackers, also the quality of the defenders matter). Glory flags, alliance glory bonus, glory booster from ruby offers, certain coat of arms, etc can be used to get more glory in attacks. 

You can place glory flags anywhere you like, but only use your flags for targets that have more soldiers in defense than normal.

Horsetails are the best available flags (5%), which can be exchanged for nomad tablets during the Nomad Invasion.
